Overview
FieldTracker is built to help contractors and field workers track their mileage, job sites, work hours, and photos. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have as a user. We wrote this in plain language — no legal maze.
What Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. This is used to identify your account and sync your data between your devices.
GPS Location Data
FieldTracker collects GPS location data to record your mileage trips and to place map pins on job sites. Location is collected while mileage tracking is active. You can stop tracking at any time from within the app.
Job and Work Data
Any job sites, work logs, time entries, trip details, and notes you enter into the app are stored as part of your account.
Photos
Photos you capture or import through the app, including any annotations or drawings you add, are stored as part of your account data.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the features of FieldTracker:
- Syncing your mileage, job sites, work logs, and photos across your iPhone and iPad
- Displaying your trip history, IRS deduction totals, and work reports within the app
- Allowing you to export your data to CSV
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service hosted on servers in the United States. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
Third-Party Services
FieldTracker uses the following third-party service:
- Supabase — cloud database and authentication provider. View their privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or analytics platforms that track you across other apps or websites.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all data you have entered directly within the app.
- Export: You can export your mileage, work logs, and job data to CSV at any time.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
FieldTracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.
Location Permissions
FieldTracker requests access to your device's location to record mileage trips and job site coordinates. You control location permissions through your iPhone or iPad's Settings app. If you revoke location access, mileage tracking and map features will not function, but the rest of the app will continue to work.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
